Volunteer Opportunities to Support Immigrants

The Unitarians have let us know that if you have free hours during the day and wish to support immigrant rights, you can help new citizens to register to vote right after their naturalization ceremonies at USCIS in Philadelphia.

Volunteer for a two-hour shift (8-10am, 11am-1pm, or 1:30-3:30pm) with the Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition (PIC). In this time of anti-immigrant sentiment, David Leaman finds it uplifting to witness the joy and resolve of new U.S. citizens. You can volunteer for as many or as few shifts as you wish among the dozen shifts during the week. Every volunteer helps! David volunteers for one shift a week and is happy to tell you about his experience. If you are relatively new to immigrant rights work, he strongly recommends this as a first-step volunteer role. Contact David via email dleaman48@gmail.com or phone 773-387-1957 to set up a chat.
