Zachary Going to Camp!

Thanks to an outpouring of donations from members of the Providence community, young Zachary DelPrato was able to spend one week at Camp Dark Waters in Medford, NJ. This gave his parents a chance to focus on their son Jakey and provide Zachary with a wonderful exposure to Quaker values. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

"Meeting for Eating" a Big Success!

Over 30 hungry persons of all ages dropped by for a little "something something" before meeting for worship at the potluck breakfast sponsored by the Program & Outreach Committee on June 30th. Good food, good conversation, and good times were had by all. Given the success of this inaugural event, Program & Outreach will organize another breakfast on July 30th. Have we started a new tradition at Providence Meeting?

After four years of service, Bruce Haines stepped down as clerk of Providence Meeting at the end of June. The Meeting approved the recommendation of the Nominating Committee of Prudence Haines and Ruth Leach as new co-clerks, effective July 1st.

The job of clerk, a true labor of love, is both demanding and fulfilling. Releasing Bruce from this responsibility will allow him to pursue other interests, including his work as a fundraiser at the American Friends Service Committee. We thank him for holding the Meeting community close to his heart over the years, and are grateful he will continue to serve as a Meeting trustee.

We also are grateful that two experienced Friends, Pru and Ruth, have stepped up as co-clerks. Both are well-versed in Quaker practice and familiar with Providence Meeting.
